Project #4: Implementation of flexible large stretch sensor for limb movement detection

Back

Description:

We have developed a very flexible and stretchable sensor.  The resistance of this sensor will response according to the amount of stretching.  If used at the joints of limbs, it can detect the amount of limb motion.  The aim of this project is to work with a PhD student, who developed this sensor into a working system.  The sensor placed at the joints will have electronics and wireless connection where all the limb motions can be measured, tracked and recorded.
You are expected to have skills in electronics (analog and digital) circuit design to interface with the sensor and also wireless devices to transmit the signal to smartphone APPS or computer (programming skill is very essential).

Type:

Undergraduate

Outcome:

A working prototype that incorporate the sensor with associated electronics together with GUI for either smartphone APPS or PC.
