There is an increased interest in using CO2 as a refrigerant, and for this to happen designers must be able to reliably predict the heat transfer processes when it changes phase. However, the limited experimental data shows that the generic heat transfer correlations developed for other refrigerants do not accurately predict the heat transfer for CO2. In this study, CFD models of CO2 condensation will be developed, and compared with experimental data. The model will then be applied to a range of tube diameters to see the effect of tube size on the heat transfer process.
