Project #10: Design and development of a Solid State Transformer (SST)

Back

Description:

Solid State Transformers (SST) are becoming popular as an alternative technology for conventional transformers. Students are expected to carry-out a thorough investigation, using simulations, into existing technologies of SST, and design and build a scaled down version of a STT to demonstrate the applicability the concept.  The project involves modelling, analysis, simulations and both software and hardware design.

Type:

Undergraduate

Outcome:

A small-scale prototype to demonstrate the concept
