Accurate location information of occupants in a physical environment is crucial for providing intelligent context-aware services. The aim of this project is to investigate existing indoor positioning technologies (non-image/video based), and to design and develop a system with corresponding software algorithms that can localise and possibly track specific human occupants. The system will consist of a number of embedded devices fixed in locations with various on-board sensors, communicating via a wireless network.
