This project aims to improve the design and manufacture of
an existing low-cost, adaptive hand prosthesis with the aim of improving the
design and ease of manufacture and assembly. It will utilise FDM 3D manufacturing
methods and 'snap' assembly techniques.
Undergraduate
The outcome is hoped to be the development of cheap and easily manufactured prosthetic hand which has an appearance and functionality similar to that of a real hand. The designed product may be body of sensor powered and, importantly, possess an effective design of the thumb.
