This is an
annual competition in Australia. The aim is to build from scratch an
autonomous robot capable of completing the required tasks. Labview and MyRio
are to be used and there is no exception since this is a NI sponsored
project. This year, we will use what we have learned in 2016 and develop a
robust autonomous robot to compete. There will be 6 students to be involved
in this competition, with 4 from Mechatronics and 2 from ECE. The 4
students from Mechatronics will be divided into 2 groups with one group to be
supervised by A/Prof KC Aw and the other by me. The group to be supervised by me will be involved with the development of the navigation and obstacle
avoidance algorithm into MyRIO using LabView programming. The other
group to be supervised by KC will be involved with all hardware aspect of
the project, including mechanical, electronics circuits and interfacing with
MyRIO.
Students should have a visa free passport to travel to Australia in September
2017.
