Air blast freezers are used to freeze food after packaging. As part of their design it is important to predict the pressure drop and heat transfer. CFD will be used to develop a reduced order model that can be used for initial design of plant.

A reduced order model of pressure losses and heat transfer in a generic air blast freezer. Analysis of localised pressure drop by entropy generation. Possible validation against an experimental model.

Prerequisites

Good grades in Mecheng.311 and Mecheng.325. Must enroll in Mecheng.711 or Mecheng.712.
