Project #44: Material Suitability for High Voltage Electrical System Enclosures in Formula SAE

Back

Description:

The aim of this project is to research materials for use in high voltage Formula SAE (FSAE) electrical systems such as the accumulator and the inverter. The project will involve determining suitable test materials, manufacturing composites and then conducting tests of both manufactured and standard materials.

Type:

Undergraduate

Outcome:

The project should result in quantifiable comparisons based on material performance in the various tests. An assessment criteria should be produced by the team to assist when new materials are proposed in the future and should be used to compare the materials tested within the project.
