Project #55: Design and development of a Solid State Transformer (SST)

Back

Description:

Solid State Transformers (SST) are an alternative technology to conventional transformers. SSTs are made of semiconductor devices and ideal for smart grid applications. In this project, students are expected to carry-out a thorough investigation, using simulations, into existing technologies of SST, and design and build a scaled down version of a STT to demonstrate its applicability. The project involves modelling, analysis, simulations and both software and hardware design.
