Back

Description:

Participatory design refers to working with members of a particular community to co-design interfaces and interactions. This project is scoped to focus on gestures using smartphones, such as shaking, that are recognized using a standard smartphone accelerometers and gyroscope. The project will ask: which gestures are useful/valuable to a community and should be included in a training set? This project has technical components, such as working with sensor data and visualizations, visual design components, in particular co-designing interfaces with a set of community stakeholders, and HCI components, which is facilitating participatory design sessions with members of a community.
