Project #62: VR simulation of war and conflict scenarios

Back

Description:

How can students gain an accurate impression of war and conflict zones during their courses? Working with academics and students from Conflict and Terrorism Studies in the Faculty of Arts we wish to explore the development of a VR environment to present a realistic simulation of conflict situations. The Arts students worked on the development of scenarios that could be implemented in a VR environment. The scenario we will investigate is around hospitals including the impact of the bombing of a red-cross hospital; the impact of a cholera outbreak; etc. The system will be developed using the Unity game engine.

Type:

Undergraduate

Outcome:

A VR environment which provides a compelling simulation of conflict scenarios utilising research into, and testing of, approaches to generate such impressions.
