Project #67: 3D printing of silicone for soft devices

Back

Description:

Stretchable, bio-compatible silicone rubber based devices have promising applications such as for pneumatic actuators in soft robotics. This project will further develop 3D printing of silicone silicone, and make steps towards demonstrating fully 3D printed soft pneumatic actuators.

Type:

Undergraduate

Outcome:

1. Evaluate silicone 3D printing methods
2. Improve accuracy of 3D printed silicone geometry
3. Design and demonstrate 3D printed soft pneumatic actuator
