Description:

The internal inspection of large pipes or tunnels can often be a dangerous undertaking by a person but may be feasible by a multirotor UAV (drone). The aim of the project is to integrate range sensors on a drone for assisted manual flying or autonomous navigation down a tunnel. Tasks include sensor selection, sensor integration, testing of radio communication, simulation, and flight testing.

Enrolment in COMPSYS 726 (Robotics and Intelligent Systems) is recommended. Experience in flying multirotor UAVs is preferred.
