Project #8: Aiding visualisation of 3D drawings

Back

Description:

Spatial visualisation is the ability to mentally manage complex objects, serving a valuable role in STEM subjects. While computer-aided 3D applications help visualise 3D shapes, support is still demanded when learning to hand-draw shapes on paper and interpreting/visualising 2D flat drawings into 3D objects mentally. After the literature review is carried out, you will design, build, and test a software solution (web-based or mobile app) to help ENGGEN 115 students improve their spatial visualisation abilities and help them understand isometric and orthographic drawings. While not essential, students taking this project might also want to consider taking COMPSCI 747 (Computing Education) as an elective as it would be relevant to this project.
