Project #2: How Can Developers Collaboratively Work on Program Code?

Back

Description:

Software Engineering has moved from the domain of single programmers working on a codebase to teams developing together. The recent lockdowns and the rise of modern web-based tools have also changed how developers work together. Developers can now collaborate in real-time on a codebase, even on individual files simultaneously. But what effect does this have on their productivity and the final code they produce?

In this project, you will explore how people use online, collaborative code editors. You will run evaluation studies where you observe how people work together and make recommendations on how to improve collaborative code editors.
