Project #12: A small portable wind turbine with triboelectric energy harvester

Back

Description:

Wind energy is everywhere.  The use of wind turbines with electromagnetic transduction has been used to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy.  This has been a proven method for more than a century.  However, the use of triboelectric instead of electromagnetic transduction has the advantage of low cost and light weight.  The aim of this project is to design a mechanical structure for a wind turbine and incorporate it with a triboelectric energy harvester where the wind energy can be harvested.
