How can AI (including Gen AI) be used to help student learning in technical engineering courses? This engineering education research project will look at how to use AI (including Generative AI such as ChatGPT) to help students and staff in technical/theory-heavy courses that do not involve programming or report writing. How accurate/correct is the output generated? Can it be used to generate practice questions with correct solutions? This project will not focus on building and developing machine learning or AI models from scratch, but will focus on using the existing tools, which may allow for the creation of a custom AI model. This project is suitable for any combination of mechanical and mechatronics students. This project does not have a prescribed end goal/outcome, and will require self-driven students who are interested in learning about AI use in engineering education.
